Cash is still King!
An article I recently came across stated that more than half of the population would like to give and/or receive cash as a gift this holiday season. I totally understand that because cash is one of the few perfect gifts that everyone can use and enjoy. However, the one point where the article was inaccurate is in the statement that cash was not “warm and fuzzy and all that personal”. That’s exactly why I created Foldin’ Money Design Kits. The designs are completely customizable because stickers, ribbons, gems, etc. can be used to give your design that personal touch. The decorations come off easily because you use double stick tape/rubber cement to adhere them!
Ever since I started giving Foldin’ Money gifts to my friends and family, not only does everyone LOVE them, rave about them and thoroughly enjoy spending them but I no longer have to guess on sizes, colors or styles! Makes my holidays so much more enjoyable and after all, isn’t that what the holidays are all about, enjoying each other? So, de-stress your holidays and visit foldinmoney.com to see what the new green for the season is all about. www.foldinmoney.com

This promises to teach me things about my business first hand instead of learning by trial and error! The program is though a non-profit called Washington Cash! Very exciting, stay tuned for updates!

Summer is here!
The great thing about our country is freedom!! Now, I admit, we have our problems, the Gulf oil SPILL, Health Care Reform, Taxes to name a few! But I’d rather live here than any other place in the world! Three cheers for the RED, WHITE and BLUE a country which makes it possible for a stroke survivor like me to start a business and help grow the economy as a small business, that’s FREEDOM! Farmers and the independent, small businesses owners are the backbone of this great nation of ours! Celebrate this 4th in style, buy American! www.foldinmoney.com

Farewell Captain Phil
A final farewell to Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie. He lived life doing what he loved. Strokes are really, they happen to real people all the time. I’ve had two myself, but I was one of the lucky ones, I survived both of them. I do have some challenges to face each day from the after effects caused by the strokes. Your chances for having a stroke can be decreased by quitting smoking, eating healthy foods and exercising. Do it for the ones you love, the ones you want to be there for!

Ode to Father’s Day
Ever wonder how Father’s Day came to be? Here’s an article I found and the link to that website. Remember, your Dad has enough stuff, honor him this year by giving him a Foldin’ Money Tie or Shirt. Recyclable and Spendable! He’ll LOVE it!!
Father's Day is celebrated popularly on 3rd Sunday in June in many parts of the world. The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, Henry Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.
In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. President Nixon, in 1972, established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. So Father's Day was born as a token of love and gratitude that a daughter cherishes for her beloved father. Roses are the Father's Day flowers: red to be worn for a living father and white if the father has died.

Wedding Cakes & Wedding Presents in one By Foldin Money
Who does not like a good piece of cake? I know that I have friends who's sole purpose in attending weddings is to enjoy that cake at the end. It makes me wonder if the cake is really for the Bride & Groom or if it is really for the guests?
So with this as my logic I am making the Bride and Groom a Foldin' Money Wedding Cake! Foldin' Money Design Kits are a fun, fast and easy way to give cash as a wedding present that has some real WOW factor!
Here is how it works:
Step 1)
• Purchase a Foldin' Money Cake Design Kit online (www.foldinmoney.com) or wherever Foldin’ Money products are sold!
Step 2)
• Unwrap the Kit and cut out your templates and decide how much your gift is going to be worth. For weddings, I recommend that you think $50 or higher. Just remember that the Cake Design requires 4 bills total! Example: $50 cake equals 1 X $20 and 3 X $10 bills!
Step 3)
• Now it’s time to Fold your Money into the best wedding gift ever! Follow the included step-by-step instructions to fold each Layer of the cake! Once all the layers are folded you will assemble them into a completed Cake Design.
Step 4)
• It’s time to decorate that cake design in a wedding theme! Check with a local craft store to find an acceptable cake topper and all the trimmings! Congratulations! Your gift just might steal the show.
Remember that Foldin' Money designs are gifts that are meant to be taken apart and spent! Foldin' Money is a unique way to give cash with a touch of class, and in a personal way! They are a perfect match for weddings because who could not use more cash in their lives. These Designs are perfect for weddings that you cannot attend in person because they ship flat and still have the WOW factor when they arrive. www.foldinmoney.com

Mom Doesn't Need More Stuff To Dust
Mother’s Day is coming up soon and the question of what to get mom to show her she is appreciated is something I am frequently asked! I know everyone loves their mom, but she really doesn’t want anything more to dust or another set of fingertip towels. She hasn’t used the last three sets yet! So, what to give her to show her how much she means to you and how thankful you are to have her in your life?
Seems to me, mom would know best what she needs or wants. Besides, you may not have the same tastes. Giving her some spending money would be a great idea because it gives mom the freedom of choice! Now the question is, how to give cash in a personal way that doesn’t require any expertise or a huge investment in time and materials! That is exactly why I developed Foldin’ Money Kits! They are a unique and fun way to give a gift of cash with a touch of class and still stay within your budget!
Giving money and still looking cool doing it is what these kits are all about! They are easy to make and will be a big hit with mom! You will feel satisfaction in giving a handmade gift that is practical, useable and fun! The added beauty of this gift is that it easily unfolds so that mom can spend it any way she wishes! Your mom will love it and love you for being so creative and thoughtful. It’s a real memory maker and...she’ll never have to dust it!

Why cash is better than a toaster
Remember when you got married and you got 4 toasters? Then you had to return 3 of them if you could and what a hassle that was? I ran across this article about gift cards vs. cash! I totally agree with Liz Pulliam Weston and here is part of the article.
"After reading her list of reasons not to get gift cards, I’m becoming less of a fan of them myself (unless I can get them for free, of course). I didn’t know, for example, that some retailers won’t let you split purchases with gift cards. This means that if you have $3 left on your card, and the cheapest item in the store is $4,you’re out of luck. That would tick me off royally. I don’t think I’d shop there again if they pulled that.
Cash doesn’t suffer from this problem. I mean, well, it does lose a little bit of value every day from inflation, but it doesn’t expire, there aren’t any fees associated with holding it, it’s accepted pretty much everywhere, and can be spent (or not spent) for pretty much any reason." If you’d like to read the whole article here’s the link http://www.mightybargainhunter.com/2009/12/10/pass-on-giving-gift-cards-and-give-cash-instead/
This is why I founded Foldin' Money on, give cash but in a fun and unique way! It is great because not only do you give a great gift, you don't waste time with shopping or spend gas and tire yourself out at the malls! The added benefit is you KNOW they are going to love spending it! For more information go to foldinmoney.com

Men Are Funny Creatures
Men and their logic often escape me and my sweetie is no exception! We work different shifts, he nights, me days. He loves to record TV programs that he misses while at work. So the deal was he could record on the bedroom TV, leaving our other television free for my viewing pleasure, provided the recording ends before I go to bed. The VCR in the bedroom makes strange noises when it stops recording and that wakes me up. Seems logical, right? One night before he left for work, I came into the bedroom and heard the VCR humming away. I asked him how long it was set to record and he said, sheepishly, “About 1:00 am.” My jaw dropped, but his retort was PRICELESS, he said, “It’s okay, I turned the fan on so that will drown out the VCR sounds!!” I laughed, “My dear,” I said, “Noise is noise!!” He is such a sweetheart, how could I be mad at him for trying to be thoughtful? Thank god for men, life would be so boring without them! www.foldinmoney.com

Struggles, Haiti and Molly Hightower
I started out to write about my struggles with overcoming my disability due to a stroke that left me unable to speak. Then the earthquake in Haiti happened and Molly Hightower died. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Molly and it is tragic that her life was ended way too soon. From all the news reports I’ve heard, she had a good heart and lived her live knowing she was helping those children.
On the other hand, think about it for a minute, are you living your passion like Molly did? Is your job and life fulfilling in the way hers seemed to be? Finding a passion in life can be a really difficult task, so in that regard, I am truly blessed. I found my passion, being a woman and owning my own business doing something I love! My company Foldin’ Money is so fun and so unique that it makes me happy to be a part of it. As a stroke survivor I am doubly blessed in that I can run my business in spite of my garbled speech. Find your passion, follow your dreams, live is short, live it well. I know this is a different type of blog entry for me, I hope you will all give thanks for the blessings in your life! Thanks for listening! www.foldinmoney.com

Recently on the show “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, the extra credit question was “In America what do most people give as a wedding gift?”
A. Something from a bridal registry?
B. Gift Certificate?
C. Cold, hard cash?
The answer was C!
But instead of just slipping a few bills into a card, why not make a lasting impression by giving your cash gift the Foldin’ Money way!! The kits are easy, quick and always appreciated. Kits are economical as well because directions can be used over and over again and extra templates are available for purchase separately!! Plus these designs are flat and lightweight so mailing is a breeze! www.foldinmoney.com
